Our mission is to promote, inspire and influence the inclusion of more women into positions of influence throughout the mining value chain of Zimbabwe
Our Purpose
To create a vibrant network of competent, effective and inspirational women throughout the mining value chain of Zimbabwe by 2030
Our Objectives
Promote sustainable extraction of minerals for the economic empowerment of women in Zimbabwe.
To create an advocacy platform for women’s right and inclusion in policymaking through constant awareness training and bonafide engagement with the government.
Promotion of tranquillity in the mining sector and promote the reduction of violence and hooliganism for women in mining;
Capacity building of women miners through training, local regional, and traditional exchange miners programs, acquisition of mining rights, and legal representation.
To improve the economic Independence of women and household income through promoting diversified utilization and beneficiation of minerals to bring about socio-economic whilst encouraging investments of proceeds into other economic sectors.
To create an investment tool for the funding of mining operations miners through pooling together resources towards a revolving loan fund, a Savings and Credit Cooperation, sourcing for grants and donations

Inaugural Women in Mining Awards 2024
Over the years the government with the support of various stakeholders has made efforts towards the inclusion of women in the mining value chain. Some women have relentlessly taken up the challenge to be involved in the once male dominated sector. It is now time to celebrate the achievements made whilst encouraging increased involvement of women through a dinner and awards night event, the first of yearly such celebrations to come. Identify a woman who qualifies to be celebrated and nominate her in any of the following categories.

A prestigious award for those qualified and serving in professional capacity such as Geologists, Metallurgists, Shift Bosses, Operators , Tradeswomen, Technicians Mine Managers, Blasters, Artisans. HR departments of various mining corporates are encouraged to acknowledge exceptional female employees who have served well under their employment
There has been allegations of serious gold leakages in the country. This award is meant to reward the efforts of the top 3 women miners from each of the 8 mining provinces who have consistently supplied the most gold to the govt through Fidelity Printers. The purpose is to encourage more legal trading
A prestigious award to acknowledge the zeal and resilience of women who took the bold step to venture into the mining sector. This seeks to acknowledge small scale mine owners who have been operating a legally registered mine for at least 5years
This awards seeks to award a mining operation owned by a woman started within the last 2 years and is progressing towards consistent growth
Successful contribution to the mining industry hinges on the knowledge, expertise and mentorship received by the different players. Organizations which have empowered women through training or facilitated access to training deserve to be celebrated as we celebrate the success stories of women in mining
The mining industry relies heavily on the provision of services and goods from independent companies and individuals. We acknowledge women who have provided services and goods to different mining entities. This award seeks to acknowledge suppliers of equipment and tools, PPE, mining chemicals, catering services, consultancy services, Approved prospectors
This award seeks to celebrate the efforts of some mining companies who have propelled gender inclusivity through their recruitment policy, procurement policy sensitive to women owned companies, access to mine tributes by women.
This prestigious award seeks to acknowledge outstanding leadership in the mining sector for those in positions of influence in mining corporate such as board members, directors, CEOs, managers and any executive appointments
Great individuals and corporates who have stood up to empower women through various activities advocating for gender inclusive policies and the upliftment of women’s rights deserve to be acknowledged
This award seeks to acknowledge the contribution of women in the non precious minerals such coloured stones, industrial minerals and special Clay’s. Value addition of minerals is a critical aspect in the mining industry. We seek to reward the efforts of those women who have ventured into quarry, slates, graphite, lithium, gemstone, chrome or any other mineral (except for gold, silver, PGMs) extraction and value addition
